Parklands FoundationBackground The Parklands Foundation is a “not for profit” partner of the Sydney Olympic Park Authority and the Parklands Foundation commenced its operations in March 2006. The Parklands Foundation was established to help add value to the future of Sydney Olympic Park by helping to attract community support through programs. GIS was historically used in Sydney Olympic Park by the Parklands Foundation partner, Sydney Olympic Park Authority during the lead up to and post the Sydney 2000 Olympics for the remediation and construction of the Parklands. Today, GIS is now the under the management of the Parklands Foundation. Situation gViz was engaged to develop a GIS Strategy for the Parklands Foundation. The GIS Strategy provided a comprehensive review of the corporate structure of the Parklands, its vision for the future and those GIS applications, information products and system architecture needed to assist in delivering the corporate vision. The GIS Strategy included a Delivery Plan and as part of the commitment of gViz as demonstrated by our core value of application of GIS technology in Government, a series of Post GIS Strategy workshops have been scheduled to ensure the successful adoption and implementation of the GIS Strategy.
