The most impressive part about this story is that the organisation self-implemented Cityworks©. According to Ellen Taub, HBPW GIS Supervisor, "self-implementing a new software product presents a unique opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of how it works and what it can provide." By the end of June, the software was fully integrated into the organisation's existing GIS. According to Robert Humphrey, HBPW GIS Specialist, "assessing and converting existing data was the most time consuming part of the implementation." The experience did not come without obstacles. "The most difficult part was training staff to understand and operate Cityworks." Though they did utilise phone support, the organisation did not require on-location assistance from Azteca.
